After graduating from the University of the Virgin Islands in 2020 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Health Sciences, she went on to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to study Biological Chemistry as a doctoral student in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences Program. After realizing her passion and desire to work in the territory, directly impacting the people of the Virgin islands, Torhera began working on a cultural tourism tech startup and relocated back to the island of St. Croix.
Now, as a young professional working in the field of sustainable economic development, Torhera has an intimate understanding of the nuanced dynamics of the Virgin Islands economy and applies this wisdom to deliver exceptional service and results. As a board member of Crucian Heritage and Nature Tourism, Vice President of the Governor’s Millennial Council, and author of her self-published children’s book “How Anansi Spun Madras,” Torhera’s experiences give her a unique blend of cultural competency and professional expertise that she brings to her role as a Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX USVI Real Estate Brokers.
